If a contractor asks you for your specific budget, consider it a red flag. A good contractor will give you their cost without needing to know your own. So the question is, do you tell a contractor what your budget is? Why or why not? What does Home Remedy think? Be honest about your budget when you request a quote. The more open and communicative the needs and desires of your project, the more open and communicative we can be with our ideas and estimates. When all expectations are set in advance, a home renovation project can be much more enjoyable for all parties involved.
Our intention at Home Remedy is not only to earn your business through quality work, but also through honest communication and profitability. Everyone is happy when a project comes out perfectly, on time and at a good price. You'll learn real-world wisdom about hiring and dealing with contractors, and you'll have free access to a contractor agreement that can help you avoid some of the obstacles that many other investors face. I don't trust contractors to buy materials for me, because in the past I have had problems with contractors using what was left over from previous jobs or buying materials cheaper than they had ordered, which stole my money.
Keep in mind that contractors charge a wide range of fees for services, but a good place to start is to hire a contractor who offers a mid-range or higher renovation. This theory seems completely false to me, because the contractor holds a contractor's license and works with many other clients.
